On 15/7/2024, We conducted a vital event to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene among young mothers in the City Catton Slum. The event aimed to educate and empower these mothers with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to manage their menstrual health with dignity.

This day is special to @doorsofhopekenya because we exist to advocate for the rights of Persons with Disabilities and ensure that they are valued, respected and included in all aspects of the society. Persons with Disabilities are greatly affected by GBV and there's need to adopt a holistic approach that includes raising awareness, ensuring accessibility to support services, and promoting inclusive policies and legal frameworks. Advocacy efforts should strive to eliminate stereotypes, enhance communication accessibility, and empower individuals with disabilities to assert their rights and seek assistance when needed. In a shocking revelation, our organization has uncovered the hidden struggles of young girls in Mavoko's vulnerable communities. Despite the presence of gender-based violence and sexual reproductive health rights training, many young girls are still forced to drop out of school due to early pregnancies.
